Johnston McCulley, THE TRUSTED OUTLAW, 1st in DJ

New York: G. H. Watt, 1934. First edition. Zorro creator McCulley also wrote many “straight” Westerns, including this rip-snorter originally serialized in Street & Smith’s Western Story Magazine prior to hardcover publication. Interestingly, the J. W. Schlaikjer dust jacket illustration was painted for the October 1930 issue of Black Mask and reused here by Watt. Condition: Fine in Very Good Plus jacket. A truly sensational copy—tight, square, spotless orange cloth, no shelf wear, white text block. The wrapper’s primary flaws are short closed tears on front cover’s bottom edge (see scan). A real beauty!
