UNKNOWN, July 1940, L. Ron Hubbard’s “Fear”

Here’s an outstanding issue of John W. Campbell’s legendary fantasy pulp, distinguished by the first appearance of “Fear,” a complete novel by L. Ron Hubbard that’s among the very best things he ever wrote. Other exceptional yarns are contributed by Frank Belknap Long, P. Schuyler Miller, and Marian O’Hearn. Terrific interior illos by the great Edd Cartier. Condition: VG, perhaps VG Plus. Principal defect is spine that’s badly cracked on the top inch or so. Light soiling to covers, lightly yellowed but supple text block. Overall a decent copy of an outstanding magazine.
