Willard Weiner, FOUR BOYS, A GIRL, AND A GUN, seminal “J.D.” novel

Avon #292, 1951. First edition thus. Former newspaperman Weiner originally wrote this novel in 1944, as the Juvenile Delinquency problem (a wartime consequence of dads serving in the military and moms often working nights or double shifts to keep food on the table) attracted national attention. He revised it for this paperback edition; before long the “J.D.” novel was a staple of PBOs (Paperback Originals). Condition: Very Good Plus. General handling wear but no specific or egregious flaws. Lightly yellowed text block.
